TRAVELING SHOW OPENING WEDNESDAY!

"Young Artists: Dreamscapes" had a wonderful run in December at Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech under the direction of Savannah Penven and will continue this month at the museum. We are incredibly excited about this first collaboration of 2026 with the Center and Craig County High School art teacher, Sierra Rock Frazier. Please show your support for these talented students!

We are so happy to be back to our regularly scheduled programming and we can’t wait for you all to see all of our artifacts that we will be highlighting throughout the year. Music of the Civil War features historian and musician Geoff White. Attendees will hear songs written and played during the Civil War as well as the stories that shaped those songs. This event is free and open to the public!

We closed out our activities for 2025 with a holid

We closed out our activities for 2025 with a holiday reception and dedication ceremony for Blacksburg History Way, a permanent timeline which spans the entire second floor of the Alexander Black House and our newly renovated library & genealogy room which now houses One Building, Many Stories, a tribute to New Town and The St. Luke & Odd Fellows Hall.

As always, we are thankful for our supportive community and look forward to serving you with more events and exhibits in the new year!

It’s another crafting day today!! We are taking a page out of @blacksburg_books book and creating paper flowers like true Victorians. Come down today and make these, recycled card boxes, pin prick cards, or cranberry popcorn garland (also pictured)!
