The Alexander Black House and Cultural Center will give back to our community for generations to come. Between the Town’s significant financial contributions and an ongoing capital campaign, $2 million has been committed to the project so far. This funding will allow for the complete exterior renovation of the building and a portion of the first floor, thus allowing the Black House to open to the public. However, to complete the restoration of the entire building and make full use of its offerings, an additional $ 750,000 is still needed. Today, we ask you to help us reach this significant, yet attainable, goal. There are a number of naming opportunities available and your donation is tax deductible.
There is always a need for passionate people who are interested in history and the arts. Contact us to see how you can help.
Be a Part of It
This is an exciting time to be a part of the Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation. Attend a program, lecture, or movie on the lawn of the Black House. Bring a friend. Talk about it. This is your facility and we want you to be a part of it.
Invite Us to Speak to Your Organization
Calling all civic organizations, churches, businesses, arts groups, history buffs, and the like, we’d like the opportunity to speak to you about the Alexander Black House and Cultural Center. We’ve received great response after launching the capital campaign, but many folks still aren’t familiar with the Black House, its history, or its relationship to the arts.
