Celebrate the opening of our latest exhibit “The Bicycle Culture of Blacksburg” by joining us for Bike Day! We have lots of fun & educational activities planned for the day, including:
- A Family-Friendly ride on Blacksburg’s Huckleberry Trail – The nearly six-mile trail goes from Blacksburg to Christiansburg along the old path for the Huckleberry Train, providing a safe and scenic place for families to ride. We’ll depart at 5:15 PM and travel a shorter distance, from the Alexander Black House to near Stadium Woods. Don’t forget to bring water and a helmet!
- Bike Maintenance Workshop – Learn the basics of maintaining your ride! Presented by Scott Owens of The Bike Barn in Blacksburg and the New River Valley Bicycle Association. Program begins at 6:15 PM.
- Blacksburg Bike Party! – We will close out the day with a party-on-wheels led by Jennifer Million, who regularly leads bike parties on the streets of Blacksburg. We’ll depart from the Alexander Black House at 8:30 PM. Bring your bike, helmet, and bike light, and we’ll provide the music!
